Refund Policy

AOD Memberships
No refund on AOD memberships will be issued unless there has been a duplicate payment, and then there will be a full refund the duplicated amount.

AOD Event Registrations
Refund requests made before 30 days of the registered AOD event the payment will be returned in full for that event. No refund requests on AOD events will issued within the 30 days prior of the registered event. If there has been a duplicate payment, and then there will be a full refund of the duplicated amount.

AOD Items that are sold on the AOD Website other than Event Registrations
NO RETURNS after 14 days.

1. Customer may return defective product for a refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping and handling charges.

2. Return shipping to AOD is at customer's expense.

3. AOD will charge a 20% restocking fee for all non-defective returns.

4. NO returns of any type will be accepted without a RMA number.

5. Customer's RMA number(s) must appear clearly on the shipping label on the outside of the return shipment. Customer shall not mark the box itself in any other way.

6. Packages that do not have the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the box will be refused.

7. To obtain an RMA number, submit your request on-line in the My Account Section.

8. After 14 days from purchase, AOD will not issue an RMA and will refer Customer to the manufacturer for warranty service, if any.

9. All products for return must be received at AOD within 14 days from the date of RMA number issuance. RMAs expire in 14 days after they are issued and cannot be extended or re-issued.

10. All Returns must be 100% complete, in original and resalable condition, with all original boxes and packing materials, contain all manuals, registration card(s), software, blank warranty cards, cabling and other accessories and documentation if included. AOD reserves the right to refuse a return on any product that does not meet these requirements.

11. Replacement items will be shipped after the defective item is received and inspected by AOD's Returns Department.

12. AOD is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. All authorized returns must include a shipment tracking number.

13. Customer is responsible for shipping charges on all returned items.

14. AOD strongly recommends that Customer fully insure the return shipment in case it is lost or damaged and use a carrier that can provide it with proof of delivery for Customer's protection.

15. AOD reserves the right to refuse a return on any product that does not meet the above requirements.

WARRANTY: MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY issues should be directed to the Manufacturer.

After 14 Days: Defective merchandise should be returned for repair to the manufacturer or any authorized service center in Customer's area. Additional manufacturers may be added to this list as manufacturer policies change.

Damaged Shipment
Customer should make sure that the damaged package it is noted on the carrier's delivery record in order for AOD to file a damage claim. Customer shall save the merchandise in the original box and packing it arrived in, notify AOD immediately to arrange for a carrier inspection and pick up of damaged merchandise. If Customer does not notify AOD of damaged goods within the first 3 days of arrival, AOD's regular return policy will override any claim of damage, and will fall under all current manufacturer restrictions.

Accuracy of Shipping Address
You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address during check-out. If you fail to provide an accurate shipping address, we have the right to charge you for any additional shipping and handling fees that we incur. If the Order came back as Undeliverable through Shipping Carrier, we will only refund the Item Price without shipping and handling fees.

What Information Does AOD collect

From General Users
AOD does not collect any personal information from users browsing its Web site. Visitors to the public areas of AOD's Web site browse anonymously. Only statistical data "such as the number of hits per page" are collected. Statistical data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not include any personal identifying information. From AOD Members, Conference Registrants and Other Customers

To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the AOD Web site, members and other users are asked to register and/or provide their member login, as well as provide some limited information. This data is submitted voluntarily. AOD asks members to provide their name, member number, business phone and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to AOD through membership applications, conference or seminar registration, publication orders, subscriptions and contest registrations. AOD uses this information only to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner to any other persons or entities.

E-mail
Information sent by e-mail to the Academy of Operative Dentistry is accessed only by AOD staff as necessary to complete the function requested by the Web site visitor. The servers on which information is stored are kept in a secure environment protected electronically from access by unauthorized individuals. Use of Cookies and IP Addresses "Cookies" are small pieces of information stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. They provide greater security for sites which provide personalized information. Cookies are commonly used by Web sites to provide identification. The cookie you accept is uniquely yours and can be read only by the server that gave it to you. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but, if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future.

A unique number called an IP address identifies every computer on the Internet. Each time you connect to the Internet your machine is assigned an IP address. An IP address is a number that identifies each sender or receiver of information that is sent in packets across the Internet. Our site utilizes cookies but does not track IP addresses for advertising purposes.

E-commerce
Our site uses order forms for visitors to request information, event registration, products and services. We will collect visitor contact information (such as e-mail address) and method of payment. Contact information from the order form is used to process orders and to send information about our Association. User payment information that is collected is used to check the user's qualifications and bill the user for products and services. This site has a secure certificate issued by a certifying agency. All information sent to this site, if in an SSL session, is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties.

Credit Card Account Information
AOD does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, AOD submits the information needed to obtain payment only to the appropriate clearinghouse.Electronic Mailing Lists and Public Forums

This site makes electronic mailing lists available to its members. You should be aware that any information you disclose on any electronic mailing list or other open forum hosted by the AOD may be collected by others and used, without authorization by AOD, to send you unsolicited non-AOD information, or for other purposes. Although AOD tries to protect your personal information when using these public forums, it cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Users also have the choice of ending any subscription by submitting a cancellation request to CustomerService@AcademyofOperativeDentistry.com.

Surveys
Our online surveys ask respondents for contact information (such as e-mail address) and demographic information (such as zip code, age). We also may use data from our surveys to send the user information about our Association, but do not share such data with third parties.

Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

Site/Membership Registration Forms
Our site's registration forms require users to give us contact information (such as name and e-mail address), method of payment and demographic information. We use customer contact information from the registration forms to send the user information about our Association. The customer's contact information is also used by the Association to contact the visitor when necessary. Information regarding method of payment is collected for member enrollment, registration and to process orders for products and services.

Pop-up Advertising
ACADEMYOFOPERATIVEDENTISTRY.COM. as nothing to do with pop-up ads and does not sanction or control them in any way.

These ads are triggered by software on the viewer's computer that may have been unwittingly installed as part of a free software package. The most common case is with music and file sharing software that is given away free to consumers. After installation, the software keeps track of the sites that the user logs onto and when the person goes to any site that is on a special list, an ad pops up. Advertisers pay for this and select the sites they want their ads to be associated with.
